Aptasia anemones pose a
serious threat to your aquarium reef if left to spread. The rock
anemone, or aptasia anemone will murder your corals. They sting or
kill other corals around them, and reproduce rapidly. The sooner
aptasia is removed; the better your chances are of eradicating
them. It is absolutely vital that these do not go unattended. One
or two are no problem, but in a short time you could have one or
two hundred! Slowly they encroach on your corals, stinging
them as they get closer and closer. Eventually, they will win
out, killing the other invert completely. If you have an aptasia
infestation in your aquarium, you have a serious problem.
